Anatomy Of A Crisis by Fausto Lucignani

After I read the story of Anatomy of a Crisis by Fausto Lucignani. I like this story, because I like the story about political, sci-fi and action . The languages that narrator uses is directed and uses a formal language because the story's about talking with President. But I can understand it.

The script tells about The President of the United States call the Chairman of North Korea to stoping his nuclear program and aggression in defense of the country. We can see the dialogue between The President from the United States and the Chairman of North Korea:

"CHAIRMAN (V.O.)
Good morning.
PRESIDENT
I'm sure you know the reason of my call.
CHAIRMAN (V.O.)
No, I don't know.
PRESIDENT
The reason is your nuclear program... and your aggressiveness.
CHAIRMAN (V.O.)
We are not aggressive, we are preparing to defend our country if we are attacked by your country."

From here, we know that the President want to stop it. He was afraid that North Korea's military might would be stronger than US. And the Chairman answer it. From what he said, he defend, he protect his country from other country. That means he was think far about the state of his country.

"CHAIRMAN (V.O.)
You have nothing to worry about if you don't try to invade my country."

In this part, the Chairman of North Korea gave an ultimatum if the US disturbed them, they would carry out the nuclear program.

"PRESIDENT
You have to abandon your nuclear development program and the deployment of intercontinental ballistic missile. They pose a serious threat to my country and the world.
CHAIRMAN (V.O.)
The program is moving on...next week we'll test a new, more powerful missile. Out nuclear program is progressing rapidly...and successfully."

From this conversation, the President suggest to the Chairman to abandon the nuclear program and the deployment of intercontinetal ballistic missile. Because he's worried about his country and the world will get side effects if it happens. But the Chairman is a little crazy about his program, he didn't think about the side effects from his program.

"PRESIDENT
Be aware that by the end of the week, your country will be surrounded by our war ships and nuclear submarines.
CHAIRMAN (V.O.)
We're ready for you...expect complete destruction of your ships and your country.
PRESIDENT
The United States has reached its limit of patience...I warn you, stop all your belligerent programs...let's come to an accord.
CHAIRMAN (V.O.)
Never! North Korea cannot become the slave of the United States like South Korea."

The President warning the Chairman by the end of the week if the Chairman didn't stop his program. If the Chairman didn't listen what the President said, the President will be surrounded by his war ships and nuclear submarines. And the Chairman is totally crazy! He's accepting voluntarily, he will instead destroy the President war ships and his country. But, I actually agree with the Chairman. I don't want to become the slave by other people. But the Chairman way is wrong. If it happens, it will be become World War III.

"CHAIRMAN (V.O.)
We are determined and have the power to annihilate our enemies.
PRESIDENT
(furious)
You're a dangerous warmonger.
A long beat.
CHAIRMAN (V.O.)
(calmly)
Our conversation is over."

The way the Chairman answers is the very soul of a leader, standing firm for what he says and always wary of the surroundings. That's cool.

Social issue that I collect it in this story is about politic. Discussing politics will never be over.,because each side has a different thought and opinions.

At the ends of the script, the President and the Secretary of State was upset. The President will do anything to stop the Chairman of North Korea's program.
